Community Development Initiative

About Project

In May 2012, Centre for Training and Consultancy has got financing from BP and its partners to implement the fourth phase of "Community Development Initiative" project. The aim of the program is to continue the process of community development in 50 communities of Gardabani, Marneuli, Tetritskaro and Tsalka municipalities along the eastern part of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and South Caucasus gas pipelines.

The program is initiated and funded by BP and its co-venturers in Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and South Caucasian Pipeline (SCP) Companies.

The goal of the project is to deepen   positive relations between BP and communities along the BTC/SCP pipelines route by investing in communities that demonstrate commitment to provide positive contribution for sustainable improvement in communities and to maintain and enhance sustainability of social-economic development.

The project goal will be reached through implementing social and economic objectives. The social objective is to promote sustainable forms of social cooperation and initiatives for sustainable community development. Within the economic objective the project will enable economic opportunities and support community members to develop small and medium businesses in own villages that will lead to improved service provision for them.
